Wire Rope LiftsA wire rope hoist is a winch that uses a flexible steel wire rope for lifting. It is similar to a chain block and has a hook on the end that lifts up or down, but with one major difference in that it lifts faster and can have a vertical travel of up to 60m. Wire rope lifts can be used for quickly moving wheel barrows up and down on the outside of buildings, slings can be used to lift long or difficult loads to various levels, or to safely lift up such objects as roofing membranes and swung around over the roof parapet. Various versions using the basis of a hook and wire rope are available, from units that bolt down to a roof, too small lightweight units that can mount at the bottom of scaffold for scaffold installation. Various attachments make it possible to mount these winches anyway - such as scaffold brackets, floor to ceiling mounts, parapet or window brackets and bolt down posts. Aussie Lift and Shift distributes the range of CAMAC wire rope lifts for rent or sale, they have lifting capacities from 200-500kg and maximum lift height of 60m - www.camac.es.
